Cua Van Fishing Village is a charming village located between Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay, which was once listed among the 16 most beautiful ancient villages in the world (2012) by the travel website Journeyetc.com. Situated in Hung Thang Commune, Halong City, about 20 km from Tuan Chau Marina, Cua Van offers a breathtaking scene of floating houses nestled in a tranquil bay, surrounded by majestic limestone mountains. Its timeless charm, outstanding natural beauty, and simple traditional culture make it an appealing destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Today, most of the fishermen have moved ashore, leaving only 12 clusters of floating houses, including classrooms, a cultural house, and several fishing rafts. Visitors can stop by the Cua Van Floating Cultural Center, a place dedicated to preserving the cultural values of the fishing village through traditional activities and cultural exchanges between fishermen and tourists. Here, travelers can explore hundreds of archaeological artifacts, ancient fishing tools, and equipment, offering vivid and authentic insights into the folklore and daily life of fishermen in Halong Bay over generations.
